What’s Your WCS Story?

“Looking back on my 9 years at Willowdale Christian School, I can see I’ve learned to be calm. When I was in grade 3, I would get very angry and lose my cool easily. I would freak out at my classmates and then sulk away. I remember one time, Mr. Demoor had to help me and other classmates solve a conflict I’d started. Mr. Demoor told me that he knew I’d become more mature and calm, with time. I didn’t understand what he meant, but now I do. I’ve learned to be calm and centered. If it wasn’t for the people at WCS, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.”

“I’ve only spent six months at Willowdale Christian School, but in this time I’ve learned how to be brave. When I first came to WCS, I was so scared. I did not know English well. I didn’t know what to do in my class. I didn’t know how to do the presentations and was nervous when I presented. My face turned red, my feet and hands turned cold. I was so sad! I thought, “I have to be brave.” I asked the teachers many questions and got help from my friends. Now, I’m not scared to ask questions or talk to others anymore. And I’m not nervous when I give presentations. I am brave now!”
