Mr. Thiessen

I was born and raised in a southwestern town called Tillsonburg. I graduated with my BEd from Redeemer University in 2018 but did not start my calling as a teacher until 2021. For those 3 years in between, I served in sports ministry with Athletes in Action Canada. Using sports as my language and fields and courts as my classroom, I taught sports fundamentals and then shared the Gospel with at-risk youth across Ontario. God rekindled the love of academics in my heart and brought me into a position of a Grade 2 teacher for my first teaching year and now, to WCS!

I am excited to be a part of this team at WCS. My favourite subjects to teach are Social Studies, Reading and Physical Education. My desire is to teach the whole child and to prepare them for the eternal kingdom. I want to walk alongside my students to teach and learn with them more about God and this world. I want to encourage students to develop their strengths and to face challenges with perseverance.

Fun Fact:

While I did sports ministry, I traveled to Ethiopia, Panama, and Mexico to compete against some amazing soccer players. I love playing soccer and other sports but also enjoy reading, watching and studying movies and being out on beautiful trails exploring the world.
